Downloading Your Research DNA Results

Starting on Friday, November 22, we will be updating the system
that allows us to return research DNA results.

Genetic Ancestry and Trait DNA Results

I have a genetic ancestry and trait result in my account. What should I do?

Your genetic ancestry and trait DNA results will be deleted from your participant account after we finish our system updates. The last day to view these results in your account is Friday, November 22, 2024.

You can take a screenshot of your results, download your results to your phone or computer, or print them.

Here’s how you can download your genetic ancestry and trait DNA results from a web browser on a computer:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account using a web browser on computer.
  2. Select “View Results” next to the research DNA results you would like to download.
  3. Use the “Print” function in your browser to print your research DNA results or save them as a PDF. You can do this by pressing Ctrl+P (on Windows) or Command+P (on Mac). You can also right-click anywhere on your screen and select the “Print” option.

    1. For Windows Users: Under the “Printer” drop-down menu, select “Microsoft Print to PDF” or “Save as PDF” (the exact wording may vary by browser). Click “Print”. When prompted, choose where you want to save the file.
    2. For Mac Users: From the PDF drop-down menu in the lower-left corner, choose “Save as PDF”. In Chrome, you may be able to skip this step and select “Open PDF in Preview”. When prompted, choose where you want to save the file.

Here’s how you can download your genetic ancestry and trait DNA results from a web browser on a mobile device:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account using a web browser on a mobile device.
  2. Select “View Results” next to the DNA results you would like to download.
  3. Use the “Print” function in your browser to print your results or save them as a PDF.
    1. For iPhone or iPad Users: Tap the “Share” button. It's the one with an arrow pointing up from a square box. Select “Print”.
      1. If you would like to save your DNA results as a PDF, after you select “Print,” tap the “Share” button at the top of the Print menu. Then choose “Save to Files.”
    2. For Android Users: If you are using a mobile browser on an Android device, navigate to your browser’s “Menu” or “More” option. This is usually three vertical dots or three horizontal lines in the top right corner. From here, select “Print.” In some browsers, you may have to click on “Share” and then “Print.”
      1. If you would like to save your DNA results as a PDF, use the drop down menu to select “Save as PDF.”
  4. Instead of the “Print” function, you can also take a screenshot of your results from your mobile device.
    1. For iPhone Users: Press the side button and the volume up button at the same time. Quickly release both buttons.
    2. For Android Users: For most Android phones, press the power button and volume down button at the same time.
Where can I find more information about downloading or printing my genetic ancestry and trait DNA results from my phone or computer?

In general, you can use the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+P (on Windows) or Command+P (on Mac) to open the Print menu to download or print your genetic ancestry and trait DNA results. You can also right-click anywhere on your screen and select the “Print” option.

No. Genetic ancestry and trait DNA results will be deleted from your account after Friday, November 22, 2024.

Health-Related DNA Results

I have a Medicine and Your DNA Report in my account. What should I do?

You will temporarily lose access to your Medicine and Your DNA Report starting on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Participants who view their Medicine and Your DNA Report before Friday, November 22 will have a PDF of those results saved for them in their account. They can see a PDF of their results from January 2025 through December 2025. After that, the PDF will be deleted from your account.

Please make sure you view your Medicine and Your DNA Report before Friday, November 22. This will let us know that you would like to continue looking at your results in the future. If you have already viewed your Medicine and Your DNA Report, no action is needed from you at this time.

If you would like to view your results, log in to your account. Next to your Medicine and Your DNA Report, select “View Results.” As always, it is your choice whether to view your health-related research DNA results.

If you want, you can download or print your Medicine and Your DNA Report. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account.
  2. Select “View Results” next to the health-related research DNA results you would like to download.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your health-related research DNA results screen. Under “Download” select “Download PDF.”
  4. Print your report. You can also save it to your computer as a PDF.
I have a Hereditary Disease Risk Report in my account. What should I do?

You will temporarily lose access to your Hereditary Disease Risk Report starting on Friday, November 22, 2024.

Participants who view their Hereditary Disease Risk Report before Friday, November 22, 2024 will have a PDF of those results saved for them in their account. They can see a PDF of their results from January 2025 through December 2025. After that, the PDF will be deleted from their account.

Please make sure you view your Hereditary Disease Risk Report before Friday, November 22, 2024. This will let us know that you would like to continue looking at your results in the future. If you have already viewed your Hereditary Disease Risk Report, no action is needed from you at this time.

Log in to your All of Us account and take the next steps to view your Hereditary Disease Risk Report. As always, it is your choice whether to view your health-related research DNA results.

After you have viewed your Hereditary Disease Risk Report, you can download or print your results. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account.
  2. Select “View Results” next to the health-related research DNA results you would like to download.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of your health-related DNA results screen. Under “Download” select “Download PDF.”
  4. Print your report. You can also save it to your computer as a PDF.
When is the last day that I can download my Hereditary Disease Risk Report or my Medicine and Your DNA Report?

Your health-related DNA results will be temporarily unavailable starting on Friday, November 22, 2024.

After November 22, we will begin working on updates to the system that allows us to return research DNA results to you. The updated system will be ready in January 2025. Participants who have viewed their health-related results by Friday, November 22 will have a PDF of those results saved for them in their account. They can see a PDF of their results from January 2025 through December 2025. After that, the PDF will be deleted from their account.

If you have already viewed your health-related research DNA results, no action is needed from you at this time.

Will my Hereditary Disease Risk Report and my Medicine and Your DNA Report be available to me in 2025?

Participants who have viewed their health-related results will have a PDF of those results saved for them in their account. They can see a PDF of their results from January 2025 through December 2025. After that, the PDF will be deleted from your account.

Please view your health-related DNA results before Friday, November 22, 2024. You need to view your health-related DNA results at least once if you want these results in your account in 2025. If you have already viewed your health-related DNA results, no action is needed from you at this time.

Here’s how you can view your Hereditary Disease Risk Report and/or your Medicine and Your DNA report:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account.
  2. Select “View DNA Results” next to the health-related DNA results you would like to download.

When you view your health-related research DNA results, you are letting us know you are interested in these results. It is your choice whether to view your health-related research DNA results. If you have already viewed your health-related research DNA results, no action is needed from you at this time.

Remember, if you do not view a health-related DNA result before Friday, November 22, that result will be deleted from your account. That means it will not be in your All of Us account after we finish our system updates in January.

Genetic Counseling Notes

I have notes from a genetic counseling appointment in my account. What should I do?

Your genetic counseling notes will be deleted from your participant account after we finish our system updates. You can download notes from your genetic counseling appointment(s). The last day to download your genetic counseling notes is Friday, November 22, 2024. Here’s how you can do that:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account.
  2. Select “View notes” next to your genetic counseling appointment details.
  3. Select “Download” at the top of your genetic counseling notes.
  4. Print your genetic counseling notes. You can also save them to your computer as a PDF.
Can I still schedule a genetic counseling appointment?

The last day to attend a genetic counseling appointment is Friday, November 22, 2024. You can speak with a genetic counselor any time before this date. These conversations are over the phone, free, and confidential.

Here’s how you can schedule a genetic counseling appointment:

  1. Log in to your All of Us account.
  2. Go to the Appointments Page.
  3. Select the research DNA result you’d like to discuss to start scheduling your appointment.
  4. Select a time that works for you. You should be able to schedule an appointment within the next few days.
  5. You will be able to choose English, Spanish, American Sign Language, or one of more than 200 languages for your appointment. TTY services are also available.
  6. After you schedule the appointment, you will get a confirmation email and/or text message.

How can I find a genetic counselor after Friday, November 22?

The last day to attend a genetic counseling appointment through All of Us is Friday, November 22, 2024. There are many websites that can help you find a genetic counselor after this date. Here are a few places to start:

If you have a doctor or health care provider, you can also talk to them. They may be able to refer you to a genetic counselor.
